|
Emarat has completed conversion from gallon to liter in all its service stations in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, in a record time that did not exceed two weeks from the start date which was the first of January, 2010.
Dr. Rahma bin Mohammed Al Shamsi, Retail Sales Manager at Emarat, said that notwithstanding the different technical and logistical requirements of accomplishing the transition, Emarat was able to conquer all obstacles in a record time by incorporating the best capacities and efforts. Dr. Al Shamsi said that the period for finalizing this conversion in all service stations in the UAE is four months, which further signifies Emarat's achievement.
He also said that Emarat was committed from the beginning to accomplish these transition operations at the different stations as easily and efficiently as possible, in accordance with a plan that had been placed in order to avoid any confusion or disturbance that could affect staff or customers.
Dr. Rahma expressed his thanks and appreciation to all the employees who contributed in achieving this conversion within two weeks, pointing out that such an achievement required their full cooperation and collaboration. He especially thanked the engineering and maintenance team for their individual and great efforts which thankfully led to the execution of these operations in a highly professional manner and in such a record time.
The conversion from Gallon to Liter was carried out in accordance to the resolution No. 31 of 2006, passed by the Cabinet, which stated that "the international units system shall be deemed the principle units system, and should be applied in the UAE." Another resolution, No. 270/3 of 2009, stated that gasoline sales units should be changed from Gallon to Liter, from the beginning of the year 2010.
